Service Description

This six-week intermediate pottery course runs on **Mondays from 7th September to 12th October 2026**, with weekly sessions lasting **2.5 hours**. **Course Schedule** * Monday 7th September – Week 1 * Monday 14th September – Week 2 * Monday 21st September – Week 3 * Monday 28th September – Week 4 * Monday 5th October – Week 5 * Monday 12th October – Week 6 Places are limited to ensure plenty of individual tuition and support throughout the course. Week 1 — Precision Throwing Refresh centring Consistent cylinders Throwing to exact measurements Week 2 — Galleries & Lidded Jars Throw gallery rims Throw practice lids Understanding tolerances as clay shrinks Week 3 — Mastering Lids Different lid styles Knobs and handles Refining fit Make a finished lidded jar Week 4 — Teapot Components Throw teapot bodies Make functional spouts Discuss angles, flow and balance Week 5 — Handles & Assembly Pull elegant handles Attach spouts and handles Assemble complete teapot Finishing joins Week 6 — Surface & Finishing Wax resist Sgraffito Carving What's Included 6 × 2.5-hour sessions (15 hours of tuition) All glazes Bisque and glaze firing Small group (maximum 5 students) Tea and coffee Not Included Clay (purchased separately, allowing students to make as much as they wish) Early bird booking for £280 until 8th of August, then £295.
