Is pottery really better than therapy? Well, here’s one reason to think so: A study by Joshua Kinman Nan et al. (2017) found that clay art therapy significantly reduced depression. In their research, adults who participated in six weekly clay sessions had greater reductions in depressive symptoms compared to a visual art group. Other research shows clay work reduces anxiety and fosters mindfulness. While therapy is essential for many, clay uniquely engages both hands and mind in a calming, creative flow. So, why not try clay therapy today?
